Introduction

In modern renewable energy systems and power electronics, there is a growing demand forhigh-efficiency DC/DC converters with large voltage gain. Traditional converters often suffer from high switching losses, voltage stress on devices, and poor efficiency under high step-up operations. This project proposes a novel Active Clamp Quasi-Resonant High Step-Up DC/DC Converter with a built-in transformer to address these challenges.

Objectives

To design and develop a high step-up DC/DC converter suitable for renewable energy and power management applications. To minimize voltage stress across switching devices through active clamp circuits. To achieve soft-switching operation, thereby improving efficiency and reducing power losses. To integrate a built-in transformer for enhanced voltage gain and compact design.

Methodology


The proposed converter employs an active clamp circuit to recycle leakage energy and reduce switching stress. Quasi-resonant operation ensures soft switching, improving efficiency at high frequencies. The built-in transformer provides the necessary voltage gain while reducing the overall component count. MATLAB/Simulink and hardware prototype testing will be used to validate the performance.
